gao hang

kristoffer zetterstrand
these artists use video game graphics as their subject matter. hang's use of airbrush creates the low poly textures of video game characters and objects, due to the method of texture mapping during game development. zetterstrand combines video game with traditional art. he would purposely break a video game map and enter the out of bounds area (hence the solid blacks of his scenery paintings), that glitchy scene he would then paint with oils.

STREET ARTISTS AND PHOTOGRAPHER THAT HAVE GREATLY INSPIRED MY WORK. ESPECIALLY HOW THIER WORK HAS BEEN TRANSLATED INTO A CONTEMPORARY WAY. THE SCULPTURES OF MCGEE AND PARLA WERE THE MAIN REFERENCE THAT I USED WHEN CREATING MY installation.
